Cincinnati, OH – The Cincinnati Bengals organization is mourning the loss of one of their own after a devastating car crash claimed the life of key player, Tyler Shelvin.

According to reports, Shelvin, a 25-year-old defensive tackle, was involved in a fatal car accident on his way home from a team practice session. The crash occurred on Interstate 71, just outside of Cincinnati, at approximately 10:45 PM last night.

“We are shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of Tyler Shelvin,” said Bengals Head Coach Zac Taylor. “Tyler was an outstanding young man and a valued member of our team. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”

Shelvin, a fourth-round draft pick in 2021, had become an integral part of the Bengals’ defensive line. He had started in several games this season and had recorded 23 tackles, including 3 sacks.

The Bengals organization has released a statement confirming Shelvin’s passing and offering support to his family.

“The Bengals family is deeply saddened by the loss of Tyler Shelvin,” the statement read. “We will do everything in our power to support Tyler’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

The team has also announced that they will hold a memorial service for Shelvin at Paul Brown Stadium on Friday at 2 PM.
