Sad News: Baltimore Ravens Announce Devastating Season-Ending Injury to Star Linebacker, Ronnie Stanley, and Cornerback, Marcus Peters

The Baltimore Ravens have announced a devastating double blow to their defensive unit, confirming that star linebacker, Ronnie Stanley, and cornerback, Marcus Peters, will miss the remainder of the 2024 NFL season due to injuries.

Stanley, 29, suffered a torn Achilles tendon during Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, while Peters, 31, sustained a fractured fibula in the same contest.

“We’re heartbroken for Ronnie and Marcus,” said Ravens Head Coach, John Harbaugh. “They’re leaders on our team and critical components of our defense.”

Stanley, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, has been instrumental in the Ravens’ defensive success, recording 67 tackles and 12 sacks last season. Peters, a five-time Pro Bowl cornerback, has been a shutdown corner for the Ravens, intercepting 31 passes in his career.

The Ravens will now rely on backup linebacker, Patrick Queen, and cornerback, Brandon Stephens, to fill the void left by Stanley and Peters.

“We have faith in our depth and our players’ ability to step up,” said Harbaugh. “But losing Ronnie and Marcus is a significant blow.”

The injuries have significant implications for the Ravens’ playoff aspirations, as they face a tough AFC North schedule.

“Praying for a speedy recovery for @RonnieStanley and @marcuspeters,” tweeted Ravens quarterback, Lamar Jackson. “We’ll miss them on the field, but we’ll keep fighting.”

The Ravens will provide updates on Stanley’s and Peters’ rehabilitation process in the coming weeks.
